Orlando Police Detail Battle to End Massacre at Gay Nightclub

Over 24 hours after a shooting frenzy at a well known gay club here, the police boss offered new points of interest Monday about their encounters with the shooter while different authorities said that everything except one of the 49 casualties had been distinguished. Many bodies were expelled overnight Monday from the club, Pulse, and by early morning, 48 of the 49 casualties had been recognized, Mayor Buddy Dyer of Orlando said at a news meeting, and the groups of 26 casualties had been advised. At an early morning news meeting, the police boss, John Mina, said cops had three encounters with the shooter, recognized as Omar Mateen, who was killed by the police at the club early Sunday morning.The first came when an on leave officer who had been working at the dance club reacted to shots discharged at around 2 a.m., Chief Mina said.
